Ocellated Darner (Boyeria grafiana)

 

Identification: The body (thorax and abdomen) are generally grayish-brown in color with two yellow lateral thoracic spots. The abdomen has pale yellowish spots laterally and smaller yellowish spots can be seen dorsally. The eyes are olive brown.

The female below is ovipositing in rocky stream in Highland County, Virginia on August 20, 2008.
